Donald Trump suffered a “complete and total collapse” on live TV as he admitted that he has to be “careful” to avoid a “trip or fall”, it has been claimed. US-Argentine political commentator David Pakman made the comments while analysing Trump’s recent interaction with CNBC news anchor Joe Kernen. He said: “Donald Trump was interviewed this morning on CNBC and suffered a complete and total collapse. This is difficult to watch. This is difficult to listen to. And Trump actually admits he’s afraid of falling down.”
David conceded that Trump made the comment in a “sort of jokey way”, but argued that telling a doctor you have a fear of falling can trigger a “certain intervention”, as it may be a “proxy to health and physical stability”. He then cut to the clip in question, in which Trump spoke over the phone to Squawk Box host Joe Kernen, who asked him a question about Saudi Arabia. In response, Trump appeared to launch into a broader speech about his perceived political success and his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.

As relayed by the David Pakman Show, Trump told CNBC, likely about Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman: “Well, here’s another great guy. You know, he gave me the famous line that I use a little bit. He said, ‘A year and a half ago, sir, you were a dead country.
‘Now you’re the hottest country anywhere in the world’. He said that to me, and it’s true. We were a dead country. We had a guy that wasn’t respected. We had a country that was laughed at.
“He couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs. Forget about down. He couldn’t walk up a flight. But he was falling all over the place. I have to be careful cuz if I do trip or fall, it’s gonna be the biggest..
“And that’s why when I get out of those planes, I walk nice and slowly. I’m not looking to set any speed records, but we had an embarrassing country. We had a country that was going to fail if…this country would have failed if I didn’t win this.”
Trump’s later remarks appeared to reference a 2021 viral video showing Biden tripping while ascending the stairs to Air Force One; he also fell at an event in Colorado in 2023.

Trump has been dogged by health rumours in recent months, with speculation focusing on bruising on his hand, swollen ankles, his meandering speeches, and moments when he appeared to nod off during public appearances.
Beyond the more visible signs, there have also been suggestions that he may be experiencing cognitive decline — claims partly fuelled by his niece and outspoken critic, Mary Trump.
She previously implied that her uncle could have Alzheimer’s disease, drawing comparisons with his father, US real estate tycoon Fred Trump, who battled the condition before his death.
Mary told New York Magazine: “One of the first times I noticed it was at some event where he was being honoured. And I looked at him and saw this deer-in-the-headlights look, like he had no idea where he was.”
She added: “Sometimes it does not seem like he’s oriented to time and place. And on occasion, I do see that deer-in-the-headlights look.”
Trump has denied such claims, previously insisting he “aced” three cognitive tests and rejecting suggestions that he could have Alzheimer’s disease.
