Brian William Bodenham ‘will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him’, the 80-year-old’s family said
Tributes have been paid to an 80-year-old man from Margam who died after a four-vehicle crash last month.
Brian William Bodenham has been remembered as a beloved brother, husband, dad and grandad.
South Wales Police were called alongside paramedics to the scene of a crash on the A48 Margam Road at around 12pm on May 6.
The crash involved four vehicles: a Vauxhall Agila, Citroen Picasso, Rover 45, and a MG3.
The driver of the Vauxhall Agila was taken to hospital where he died nearly two weeks later as a result of in his injuries.
He has now been named as Brian William Bodenham, aged 80, from Margam.
His family have issued the following tribute to him: “Brian peacefully passed away on May 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
“Brian the dearly beloved husband of the late Catherine. Much-loved Dad of Gary and Darren, dear father-in-law of Amanda and Joanne, cherished grandfather of Joseph, Hollie, Olivia, and a loving brother of Valerie.
“Brian will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
“We would ask for privacy at this time, while we try to deal with our loss, and would ask people not to speculate about the accident while the investigation is ongoing.”
A police investigation into the collision is ongoing.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: “The serious collision investigation unit are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision, anyone with any dashcam footage, or anyone who saw the manner in which the cars were being driven before the collision to contact them on 101 quoting reference 2600140685.
