The DWP has confirmed a full list of bowel and stomach conditions that may qualify for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), which could be worth up to £748 a month
The Department for Work and Pensions has published a comprehensive list of 22 bowel and stomach conditions that make those with them eligible for up to £748. Individuals experiencing digestive and abdominal health problems may qualify for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
PIP could result in up to £187.40 being paid into claimants’ bank accounts every week. The standard weekly rate stands at £76.55, while the enhanced rate delivers £114.80.
The mobility element covers difficulties with moving around. The basic rate for this element is £30.20, rising to an enhanced level of £80.10. Through securing the enhanced daily living rate combined with a proportion of the mobility component, successful applicants can receive £748 monthly. The DWP will assess the degree of difficulty you experience with daily living and mobility activities. Each activity will be evaluated on whether you can complete it safely, the time it requires and whether you need help to accomplish it, either from another person or through additional equipment.
The frequency with which your condition impacts this activity will also be taken into account. PIP comprises two elements: daily living and mobility. You may be entitled to the daily living element of PIP if you need support, reports Birmingham Live.
