An elderly passenger suffered serious injuries in a crash which left a busy road shut for a number of hours
Emergency services were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision on the A4226 in Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan, in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday. The crash was reported at around 4.30am.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said an elderly passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital as a result of the crash. Investigations into what happened are ongoing.
The road remains closed at this time for accident investigation work. It is shut between the ‘Dragon Tail’ roundabout to the junction for Cwm Ciddy Lane (near Toby Carvery), according to police.
A South Wales Police statement read: “A single vehicle collision occurred on the A4226 at approximately 4.30am on Monday, May 25. An elderly passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The collision is under investigation.”
