The defendants were accused of speeding, keeping untaxed vehicles, and keeping a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements.
Their cases were heard in the magistrates’ courts in Cardiff, Swansea, London, and Worcester.
Here’s a round-up of the cases.
Alan Harbron, 87, of Beechwood Drive in Penarth, was caught speeding in a 20mph limit.
He pleaded guilty, and had three points added to his licence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on February 26. Harbron must also pay a £147 fine, £120 in costs, and a £59 surcharge.
Alex Jones, of Rhos Noriaidd in Sully, must pay £89.59 in back duty after keeping an untaxed vehicle.
At Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court on February 27, Jones was ordered to pay a £220 fine and £85 in costs.
Jacob Andrews, of Glebe Street in Penarth, kept a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements.
Andrews admitted the offence, and at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on February 23 was sentenced to pay a £147 fine, £100 in costs, and a £59 surcharge.
Beverly Nightingale, 50, of Laburnum Way in Penarth, admitted speeding in a 20mph speed limit.
On February 24 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court, Nightingale was sentenced to pay a £100 fine and a £40 surcharge, and was handed three penalty points.
Rhiannedd Grace James, 52, of Pill Street in Penarth, kept an untaxed vehicle.
James was sentenced to pay a £220 fine, £85 in costs, and £17.92 in back duty on February 24 at Worcester Magistrates’ Court.
