This will take place on Saturday, May 2, offering a variety of items for sale, including homemade cakes, savouries, and books starting from £1.

Donations have been streaming in from local businesses and the public, alongside nurtured plants readied over several months specifically for the event, beginning at 12pm.

The day will also feature a £2-ticket raffle boasting of some impressive prizes, according to the organisers.

Stemming from the successful outcome of last year’s event, the popular BBQ will make a comeback, serving freshly prepared burgers and sausage rolls.

Tea and coffee will also be on offer throughout the day.

The volunteers, who maintain the Green Flag awarded parkland surrounding All Saints Church in Penarth, highlighted the critical role played by the event in raising funds necessary for the maintenance and development of Victoria Square.

They invite people to sample the variety on offer stating: “For those of you who have supported us in the past, you will appreciate the range of products on offer, for those who haven’t sampled our fare, come along, you will not be disappointed.”

The organisers also acknowledged the “initial funding” from various institutions, including The National Lottery, Wales Government, Glamorganshire Voluntary Services, and Vale Council.

Aiming to ensure the continuous upkeep of the parkland, they said: “Every pound you spend helps us sustain maintenance of Victoria Square as a place to enjoy by the community.”

The event will take place in Victoria Square’s parkland, kicking off at midday and running until 3pm.
