The Welsh actress, best known for her role as Stacey in the much-loved sitcom Gavin & Stacey, is currently starring in series 21 of Channel 4’s hit comedy gameshow Taskmaster.
Fans have praised her for bringing the same warmth and humour that made her a household name to another nationally beloved show.
In Gavin & Stacey, Ms Page captured the affection of viewers across the UK as the cheerful and sometimes chaotic Stacey Shipman, helping to put Barry Island firmly in the national spotlight.
Now, she’s one of five celebrity contestants tackling the bizarre and often hilarious challenges set by Alex Horne and judged by Taskmaster Greg Davies.
She stars alongside comedian Amy Gledhill, political satirist Armando Iannucci, TV presenter Joel Dommett, and Oscar-nominated actor Kumail Nanjiani.
Despite initial nerves, Ms Page, 48, has quickly become a standout on the show.
Speaking on the Taskmaster Podcast, she admitted she “did not think she was right for the show” but chose to “face her fears head-on” by taking part.
Fans have taken to social media to share their delight, with one Reddit user calling her a “f***ing delight.”
Other viewers have praised her “unguarded energy.”
She has delivered several standout moments including enthusiastically smashing a sheep prop during a rage room challenge and sharing stories about her fondness for sherry.
Both moments were featured in Channel 4’s official highlights reel.
Her appearance on Taskmaster follows a different kind of TV triumph—her involvement in the most-watched sitcom finale in more than 20 years.
The Gavin & Stacey Christmas Day episode drew 12.3 million viewers on BBC One, making it the most-watched programme of the day.
For fans in Barry and across South Wales, where much of Gavin & Stacey was filmed, Ms Page’s continued success feels especially personal.
Long before her Taskmaster stint, Barry residents took pride in their town’s starring role, from Marco’s Café to the seafront arcades.
Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Ms Page’s career includes appearances in Love Actually, Doctor Who, and Loose Women.
Even so, her latest turn has won her a new generation of fans—this time armed with worms and T-shirt cannons rather than punchlines.
For anyone who ever thought Stacey might secretly be the funniest person in the room, Taskmaster is proving them right.
Taskmaster Series 21 airs Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4 and is available to stream on demand.
