GlastonBARRY 2026 – Tribute festival returns to Romilly Park

by David Jones

GlastonBARRY, the annual tribute festival in Barry, South Wales, will return to Romilly Park from July 24 to 26, 2026, with performances from tribute acts including Pink, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Kings of Leon, and Queen.

Matt Blumberg, director of Mack Events, said: “When we started we had a team of mates and local volunteers helping us out.

“Now we have a full-scale operation with security, medical, police presence, food and drink suppliers and a huge technical team.”

What began as a “silly idea” between friends to host tribute gigs in a theatre has grown into a major event, welcoming 18,000 attendees over one weekend.

The first GlastonBARRY shows took place at the MEMO Theatre in 2013, with a capacity of just 600.

Mr Blumberg said: “Now my wife Hayley is a director of the company alongside me.

“She’s been amazing.”

The 2026 festival kicks off with a family-friendly Juniors event on Friday, July 24, featuring tributes to Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift.

The main festival runs from Saturday, July 25, to Sunday, July 26, and is open to audiences aged 18 and over.

22 tribute artists will perform across the weekend.

This year’s headliners include Pink and Queen, with other acts paying tribute to Westlife, The Killers, Billy Joel, ABBA, Foo Fighters, The Smiths, Shania Twain, UB40, Aerosmith, Kings of Leon, and Tom Jones.

Mr Blumberg launched the festival to help improve Barry’s “rough” reputation and create a positive, safe, and entertaining community event.

GlastonBARRY now features two main stages – The Dragon Stage at the top of the field and a big top stage – as well as a VIP area, licensed bar, food court, DJs, stalls, and other activities.

Fans travel from across the UK and beyond, with previous ticket sales reaching customers in Europe, Canada, Australia, and the United States.

A weekend ticket costs £70.

A family pass for the Juniors event, which admits four people, is priced at £60.
