House 7 Studios in Penarth celebrates success with move

by martyn jones

House 7 Studios, based at Milkshed Workspace in Penarth, is moving to larger premises after outgrowing the space due to rapid growth.

The award-winning film and content production company, known for its documentary filmmaking and journalism, has been based at Milkshed for several years and will relocate this spring to support its expanding team and portfolio.

Will Summers-Davies, co-founder of Milkshed alongside John Summers-Davies, said: “House 7 Studios was one of our earliest studio tenants, and seeing them grow to the point where they need more space is a real point of pride for us.

“Milkshed was created to support businesses at key stages of their journey.

“When a company moves on because they’ve outgrown us, that tells us we’re doing something right.”

Nick Hartley, founder and head of content strategy at House 7 Studios, said: “Milkshed has been a brilliant base for us at a really important stage of our journey.

“It gave us the space, flexibility and stability to focus on building the business and growing our team.

“Moving on now feels like a positive next step, and we’re proud to have started that journey at Milkshed.

“We’re pleased that House 7 will be staying in Penarth, keeping creative work, skills and jobs in the Vale of Glamorgan.”

Milkshed Workspace was developed with support from the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Start-Up Bursary and later the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, transforming the building into a coworking hub for freelancers, creatives, and small businesses.

Bronwen Brooks, deputy leader of Vale of Glamorgan Council and cabinet member for sustainable places, said: “This is exactly what we want our local workspaces to achieve.

“Milkshed has helped House 7 Studios grow from an early stage business into one that now needs bigger premises, and that’s a real success story.”

Milkshed is already marketing the studio in preparation for a new business to begin its journey.

John Summers-Davies said: “Our role is to provide a stable, supportive base at the right moment.

“If we can help companies take their next step, that’s success for us.”
