I switched my cats’ food to a £ 1.50 more expensive brand – the results were remarkable

After switching to a cat food with higher meat content, I noticed my cats became more energetic and less hungry

I recently made the decision to move away from my regular cat food brand, Felix, and opt for one containing a higher proportion of meat. I’ve previously fed my cats Untamed, which I thoroughly enjoyed and still purchase the occasional tin, but it proves extremely costly, particularly when you have multiple cats.

That’s when I discovered Harringtons, readily available online and in selected shops, but also purchasable directly through the website. It’s a British pet food manufacturer that creates natural, wholesome food for dogs and cats.

It offers dry and wet food, including grain-free and nutritionally balanced recipes. It emphasises quality nutrition, sustainability, and affordability. After thoroughly investigating the ingredients in my cats’ current food, it made perfect sense to explore an alternative.

I don’t consider it significantly more expensive than Felix, either, which was a concern when I was looking into other food brands.

It costs £16.50 for 40 pouches of wet food, compared to Felix’s Doubly Delicious, which is £15, so it’s merely £1.50 more.

For that additional £1.50, I’m providing better quality, more nourishing food for my felines. Harringtons said: “At Harringtons, we believe in making mealtimes Meatier, that’s why each pouch is packed with freshly prepared meat and fish and nutritious animal protein.

“We only use natural ingredients and never add artificial colours or flavours, either, so sleep easy knowing you’ll be taking good care of them with Harringtons. No nonsense, just natural goodness for all.”

Upon examining the ingredients, I discovered that Harringtons pouches feature 32% freshly prepared beef and chicken, whilst Felix contains just 14%.

As carnivores, cats require as much meat as possible in their diet, and whilst premium brands such as Untamed and KatKin offer superior nutrition for felines, they’re simply beyond the budget of many pet owners.

I gradually introduced my cats to the new food to prevent any digestive issues, but they adored Harringtons despite its more pungent aroma. I’m equally impressed with the brand, and I can’t envision changing anytime soon.

From the customer service to the packaging to the ingredients, it delivers everything you’d expect from quality cat food. There’s an extensive range of varieties available, whether your cat favours fish, poultry, jelly or gravy.

I also secured 25% off my purchase on the day, bringing a box of 40 pouches to below £12.50, which represents exceptional value. You can additionally subscribe to repeat deliveries, which reduces the cost even more.

I don’t feel Harringtons is stretching my budget, yet I’m confident my cats are consuming superior quality food.

My felines are noticeably more lively and less ravenous since abandoning Felix, and I urge fellow pet owners to investigate what they’re genuinely feeding their animals.
