After raising constituents’ concerns for a number of years I am pleased that demolition has begun and look forward to the successful removal.
I was pleased to visit the Bridge Between Community Centre this month to drop into their warm hub session, supporting people in the community with a warm space and company. The Bridge Between is a wonderful community hub and I am pleased to see it growing in strength.Â
There are plenty of warm spaces across the Vale for anyone who needs them, you can find out more information via the council’s website – https://www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/en/living/Cost-of-Living/Warm-Spaces.aspx#:~:text=The%20Warm%20Hub%20is%20every,will%20be%20open%20to%20everyone.
I would like to thank everyone who joined me for my final spring breakfast event last week, celebrating St Davids Day, art, and culture in the Vale of Glamorgan. With performances from Porthkerry Community Choir and breakfast provided by catering pupils and staff at Cardiff and Vale College, we had a great morning celebrating the range of arts and cultural activities that are available right across the Vale of Glamorgan. We are very lucky to have so many organisations in the Vale that allow people to sing, dance, learn, craft, and enjoy creative opportunities.
I was also pleased to join the Vale Foodbank at its event this month to celebrate all of the volunteers and people who have made donations to keep the foodbank going this year. It was great to hear from the brilliant Cowbridge Male Voice Choir ahead of their performance at the Wales v Italy Six Nations match!
Thank you to Kalpana Natajaran for hosting the wonderful Wales Tamil Sangam St Davids Day event, celebrating a fusion of Welsh and Indian culture at Barry Memorial Hall this month. Supported with Welsh Government funding, the event was a great celebration of culture and it was great to be joined by the mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Councillor Naomi Marshallsea.
