James Corden confirms Gavin & Stacey won’t be making a comeback
While Corden and Jones have combined for this new Apple TV series, the pair previously revealed there will be no more Gavin & Stacey.
The last-ever episode of the hit BBC sitcom aired on Christmas Day 2024 and was watched by more than 19 million viewers.
The 90-minute finale was the most-watched TV programme on Christmas Day in 23 years.
Speaking to Fleur East, Matt Haslam and James Barr on the Hits Radio Breakfast show Christmas special back in 2024, Corden and Jones confirmed the Gavin & Stacey finale would definitely be the last ever episode.
Corden said: “It can’t carry on, it genuinely can’t.
“And you’ll realise that there’s certain moments that happen in the episode, which make it very, very clear that the show cannot carry on.
“We as writers wouldn’t know how to carry on that story.
“We feel very, very proud of it.
“We’ve really given it everything we could have given it.”
