The Ladies Day fundraiser, held at Rhoose Social Club on July 18, was organised by cousins Taylor and Lauryn Holloway in memory of their grandfather, John Holloway, who died in January 2026 after living with the condition for many years.
A total of £3,015 was raised through an afternoon of music, entertainment, raffles, and bingo, with community members coming together to support the cause.
Organisers said: “It brought together friends, family, and community members all united for a fantastic cause.
“We as a family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make the event such a resounding success and knowing how proud our grandad would be looking down.”
They described Mr Holloway as: “a special man who would lighting up any room he entered. His infectious laugh was a joy to hear, and he touched so many lives with his caring, funny, and loving spirit.”
They said he was “deeply missed” by the family, but that organising the fundraiser had brought them together in a positive way.
The family plans to hold the event again next year.
