Lloyd Pursall, originally from Barry, is presenting his first UK solo show titled Otrovert at Art Central Gallery in Barry, which opens on April 20, 2026.
The exhibition will feature a mix of his celebrity and fashion work alongside personal images, including portraits of people from his hometown, captured with the same editorial style as his commercial projects.
Mr Pursall said: “They deserve nothing less.”
The title, Otrovert, is drawn from the Spanish otro (other) and the Latin vert (to turn), describing those who feel they don’t fit into either introvert or extrovert labels.
After beginning his photographic training at Cardiff and Vale College, Mr Pursall earned a BA from the London College of Fashion and moved to Los Angeles, where he built a career in fashion photography and celebrity portraiture.
The exhibition also includes work by Level 2 students from Cardiff and Vale College, who were mentored by Mr Pursall and invited to create images in response to the theme of Otrovert.
Mr Pursall said: “It felt like closing a loop in the most meaningful way.
“Returning home has reminded me how deeply Barry Town has shaped me.”
He said involving the students was particularly important to him, as the college played a key role in his early development.
The exhibition will run until July 4, 2026.
Opening hours are 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 9.30am to 4pm on Saturdays.
