A major road was shut for over 10 hours following an incident with a lorry
Reports described a significant emergency service presence following an incident involving a large lorry that had overturned near the Newtown bypass roundabout.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that they received a report of the overturned lorry just before 1.35pm on Wednesday, February 18, prompting a response to the scene.
The incident occurred near the Newtown bypass roundabout on the approach towards Welshpool, where the lorry had come to rest on its side, leading to disruption in the area.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The road was closed while the overturned lorry was recovered and debris was cleared from the carriageway to ensure the route was safe for motorists.
The road was subsequently reopened at approximately 12.25am on Thursday, February 19, following completion of the recovery and clean-up operation.
