A busy Cardiff road was closed during rush hour on Thursday evening while emergency services dealt with an accident.

At 5pm on June 25, Leckwith Road, near the Cardiff City stadium, was blocked in both directions with traffic queueing from the Leckwith Interchange to The Green.
It came as thousands of concertgoers were heading towards Cardiff Castle to watch McFly, and while lots of people embarked on a scorching rush hour commute as highs of 35°C were recorded in Cardiff.
A statement from South Wales Police around 5pm said: “We’re at the scene of an incident on Leckwith Road. The road is currently closed from Leckwith towards Cardiff Centre and at the roundabout in Leckwith.”
They added: “Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.”
The key route into Cardiff was opened shortly after but slow traffic remained for some time.
