Major road closures you need to know about in Wales today, Sunday, February 22

Drivers are being told to plan their journeys carefully to avoid delays

A number of major road closures are in place in Wales today, Sunday, February 22. Drivers are being advised to plan journeys carefully, allow extra time, and check local diversion routes. There are temporary traffic lights on a number of busy routes for roadworks, with drivers told to expect delays. Some routes have also been shut completely to allow work to be carried out. A winter of very wet weather also means some roads have been forced shut due to landslides. Here is everything you need to know:

• The A484 in Carmarthenshire is closed due to roadworks between Heol Bwt and the Cwmpenraig turn off. A fully signed diversion route is in operation. Southbound traffic is diverted via the A484 to Saron, A486 to Pontwelly roundabout, B4336 to Llanllwni, A485 to Carmarthen, A485 to Francis Roundabout.
• M48 Severn Bridge Monmouthshire Temporary gross weight limit of 7.5 tonnes due to bridge maintenance work on M48 Severn Bridge in both directions between J2 A466 Wye Valley Link Road (Chepstow) and J1 A403 (Aust).
• A487 Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd Temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on A487 at Adwy Ddu. Expect delays until February 23.
• A472 Monkswood, Monmouthshire Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A472 near Cefn Mawr Lane. Expect delays until March 13.
• A483 Fabian Way, Swansea one lane closed due to roadworks on A483 Fabian Way Eastbound from Port of Swansea (Port Tennant) to B4290 (Jersey Marine roundabout, Jersey Marine).
• A40 St Clears, Carmarthenshire Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A40 around the Pont Y Fenni turn off. Expect delays.
• A4216 Cockett Road, Sketty, Swansea Temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on A4216 Cockett Road at Townhill Road. Expect delays.
• B4385 Montgomery, Powys , is closed in both directions due to water main work between B4388 Forden Road (Montgomery) and the Hendomen turn off (Hendomen).
• B4582 Nevern, Pembrokeshire is closed in both directions due to landslip from the A487 to the Moylgrove turn off.
• B4393, Alltforgan, Powys is closed in both directions due to long-term roadworks between Ffridd Wydd-afon (Alltforgan) and Llanwddyn (Llanwddyn).
• A487, Tre’r ddol, Ceredigion Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on The A487 between Tre’r ddol (Tre-R-Ddol) and Furnace (Furnace). Expect delays.
• A5, Capel Curig, Conwy Convoy system and roadworks on A5 near the Caernarfon turn off
• A470 Llandinam, Powys Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A470 near the Llandinam War Memorial.
• A470, Cwmbach Llechrhyd, Powys Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A470 near Builth Road.
• A484, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A484 around A4214 Stepney Place.
• A484 Sandy Road, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A484 Sandy Road at Sandy Bridge Roundabout.
• A477, Neyland, Pembrokeshire Temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A477 in both directions from Honeyborough Roundabout to Trinity Terrace.
• A470, Betws-Y-Coed, Conwy Temporary traffic lights due to long-term roadworks on A470 near Zip World.
• A4118 Gower Road, Killay, Swansea Temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on A4118 Gower Road around Beaconsfield Way.
• A4161 Castle Street, Cardiff Lane closed due to roadworks on A4161 Castle Street around High Street.
