Man airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after crash

A motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a rally car

A biker was airlifted to hospital after a crash on the A470 over the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision involving a motorcycle and rally car in Gwynedd on Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened near Dinas Mawddwy.

The motorcyclist was taken by the Wales Air Ambulance to the major trauma unit at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said “At 3.15pm on Saturday, June 13, we were notified of a two-vehicle collision involving a red Ford Cortina rally car and a grey Triumph Tiger motorcycle.

“The incident occurred on the A470, near Dinas Mawddwy, Gwynedd.

“The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where he remains under treatment.”

Sergeant Alun Jones of the roads crime unit said: “We are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was travelling in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage, to contact us.”
