Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but the 64-year-old man couldn’t be saved

A man has died in a crash in Ystrad Mynach on Wednesday morning, police have said.
Gwent Police were called to the scene of a crash on Caerphilly Road in Ystrad Mynach alongside an air ambulance and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. A 64-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them, while the road remains closed as investigation work continues.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision on Caerphilly Road, Ystrad Mynach at around 9.30am on Wednesday, July 29.
“Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. A 64-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene; his family have been informed.
“Anyone who relevant information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, is asked to contact us via our website, call 101 or DM us on our Facebook or X social media pages, quoting log reference 2600244769.”
