A man has died following a fatal car crash shortly after midnight on Saturday, May 23. North Wales Police is appealing for witnesses as it investigates the single-vehicle collision that happened on an unclassified road between the B5105 and Melin-Y-Wig, Corwen.
The collision involved a 1992 registered Yellow Ford Escort, described as a rally-type vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 70-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene in the early hours of the morning.
Lead investigating officer, Sergeant Emma Birrell from the Road Crime team, said: “I offer my deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time.
“This is now sadly being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision.
“We are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling or walking in the vicinity and who may have mobile or dashcam footage to contact officers at the Roads Crime Unit via the live webchat on the website, or by calling 101, quoting reference number O078902.”
