A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving

A man has died after a four vehicle collision on a busy road on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place on the A40 between St Clears and Whitland on Sunday, June 21 at noon.

It involved a grey Audi, blue Seat, Grey Vauxhall and an Orange KTM motorbike. The rider of the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene.

A statement read: “Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the A40 between St Clears and Whitland. or anyone with information about it to get in touch.

“The collision took place on Sunday, June 21 at approximately 12pm, involving four vehicles – a grey Audi, blue Seat, Grey Vauxhall and an Orange KTM motorbike.

“Sadly, the male rider of the KTM motorbike died as a result of their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“One male, aged 38 has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

T”he road was closed for collision investigation to take place and was reopened by 8:30pm.

“Anyone with information or dashcam footage that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police.”
