Man killed in motorbike crash

Police are investigating

A 44-year-old man has died after being involved in a collision whilst riding a motorbike. The incident took place on the A472 Hafodyrynys at around 2.35pm on Monday.

Gwent Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service attended the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision on the A472 Hafodyrynys at around 2.35pm on Monday, May 4.

“Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.

“The collision involved a motorbike.

“The rider of the motorbike, a 44-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“Officers investigating the collision want to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the A472 who witnessed the collision between 2pm and 2.40pm on Monday 4 May or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to contact us.
