A machete has been recovered from a leisure centre in Cardiff after police were called to reports of a teenager driving a motorbike across the grass during a football training session.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening at Eastern Leisure Centre in the Llanrumney area of the city.
Police were called after receiving reports that one person had been threatened and that a male, allegedly in possession of a blade, was seen riding a motorbike across the playing fields. For the latest Cardiff news, sign up to our newsletter here.
As well as a motorbike and a machete a face covering has also been recovered according to South Wales Police.
A spokesman for the force said: “On Tuesday evening (September 22) at around 6.45pm we were called to a report of a male on a motorbike driving across Eastern Leisure Centre playing fields during a football training session.
“Information was also received that the individual had a knife and had threatened an adult.
“A 19-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, affray, and possession of a bladed article.
“A motorbike, a machete, and a face covering have been recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
“Thank you to their local community for this continued support. We will not tolerate those who insist on causing harm and disorder.”
