Dr Reagu is now recounting what the defendant told him about the day of the killing, April 18, 2025.

“The night before he had taken a sleeping tablet, and he woke at around 7.30am,” says the psychiatrist. “He said Tracey Davies had told him she would make a coffee, but that she had not done so and had after going to the toilet returned to the bed. He said they were having a hug.”

The psychiatrist said the defendant had told him he still could not understand why he had used his knees to pin down his wife’s arms in the bed and then strangled her to death.

“He said he wasn’t feeling anything at that time,” Dr Reagu added.
