Marie Curie described its recent Garden Fayre, held at its hospice in Penarth, as a huge success.
The event was held to raise funds for care and support services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
Hannah Warner-Holt, Marie Curie’s community fundraiser for Cardiff and the Vale, said: “We are delighted to have brought so many people together in Penarth at our hospice to raise vital funds for our services.

“A huge thank you to our volunteers and to all organisations and performers for helping make the day the success it was.”
Visitors enjoyed a range of stalls, games, and live music from Ukulele Nights and The Harmony Brothers at the Windsor Gardens bandstand.
There was face painting, a hook-a-duck, and soft toy stalls for children, as well as ice cream from Daisy & Belle.

The Garden Café was open throughout the day, and a barbecue served freshly prepared burgers.
Marie Curie, based on Bridgeman Road, offers hospice care both at home and on-site, as well as practical and emotional support through its free Information and Support service.
The charity relies on public donations, and Ms Warner-Holt encouraged supporters to organise their own events.
She said: “Almost one in three people still don’t get the support they need at the end of life.

“By fundraising and hosting events like this, you can help change that and bring Marie Curie’s expert end-of-life care to more people.
“Every pound raised helps the charity to provide emotional and practical support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones at the most difficult times.”
This summer, Marie Curie is encouraging supporters to host golf days to help raise additional funds.
