MUMFORD & SONS
Prizefighter (Bad World)
Mumford & Sons return with their sixth album Prizefighter, a record that captures the band rediscovering their creative spark in real time. Written in a 10-day burst, the 14-track collection feels confident in its delivery and charged with renewed purpose.
Opening track Here, featuring Chris Stapleton, sets the tone, its warm instrumentation and earnest lyricism signalling the album’s open-hearted clarity. Three singles – The Banjo Song, Rubber Band Man and the title track – collectively highlight the band’s undisputed range, and Conversations With My Son (Gangsters & Angels) is a particularstandout, its slow-burning verses rising into a soaring, emotionally-charged bridge.
Meanwhile, Gracie Abrams feature Badlands, alongside Shadow Of A Man and I’ll Tell You Everything, slows the pace, and closing track Clover ends the album gently, on a reflective, quietly hopeful note. Ultimately, Prizefighter feels like a band who’ve found their way back to each other and to themselves.
