A triangular-shaped stretch of highway to the south of Blackton Lane and west of Port Road will be shut down.
The closure, approved by the Welsh Ministers, is necessary for the development of a new Advanced Technology Centre for Cardiff and Vale College.
This project, which includes landscaping, infrastructure, and engineering works, was given the green light by the Vale of Glamorgan Council on October 18, 2024.
The order to stop up the highway was made under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
It is important to note that the order will only remain valid as long as the planning permission for the development is active and not revoked.
The order also ensures the preservation of rights for statutory undertakers concerning any apparatus under, on, over, or across the highway.
The length of highway to be closed is 31.08 metres long at its longest point and 5.21 metres wide at its widest point.
It is marked with zebra hatching on the deposited plan.

Those aggrieved by the order can appeal to the High Court within six weeks of July 23, 2026, if they believe it is not within the powers of the 1990 Act or if a procedural requirement has not been complied with.
