A road in Monmouthshire remains closed for collision investigation work following the incident
A person has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car, police have said. The pedestrian remains in hospital following a collision near Abergavenny on Monday evening.
Emergency services were called to a crash on the B4521 at Skenfrith at around 5.25pm. Officers from Gwent Police attended alongside paramedics.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, the spokeswoman added.
The B4521 remains closed at this time while collision investigation work continues.
A Gwent Police statement read: “We received a report of a road traffic collision on B4521 towards Abergavenny at around 5.25pm on Monday, July 13. Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
“The collision involved a pedestrian and a car; the pedestrian was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. The road remains closed at this time.”
