Hosted by the Penarth Civic Society, the event will take place at St Augustine’s Hall on Albert Road on Thursday, October 15, with doors opening at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Guest speaker Alan Thorne will share memories of the decade following the end of the Second World War, exploring the social changes that shaped the town.
He will reflect on the departure of American forces, the creation of new playgrounds, and the broader changes that defined a “dynamic” era in Penarth’s history.
Pre-booking is essential to help organisers plan for catering.
Tickets are priced at £5 for members and £8 for non-members.
They include a complimentary glass of wine and cheese and biscuits.
Tickets can be booked online through the Penarth Civic Society website.
