RNLI Penarth Lifeboat Station was called out at 9.38pm to assist in the operation.
Crews launched the Atlantic 85 lifeboat and carried out a shoreline search.
It was later confirmed that the missing person has been found.
A spokesperson for RNLI Penarth Lifeboat Station said: “Our crew were tasked at 9.38pm [on Monday evening] to search for a missing person.
“Our Atlantic 85 was launched and carried out a shoreline search before the casualty was reported found.
“Our volunteers returned to the station, and the lifeboat was rehoused, refuelled and ready for service by 10.40pm”.
