Penarth man sentenced after sending threatening message

Robert Callaway, 41, of Glyndwr Road, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court after having pleaded guilty.

The offence took place on October 13, 2025 in Penarth.

He was handed a community order lasting until December 16, 2027.

This includes nine months of non-residential alcohol treatment.

He must also complete up to 15 days of rehabilitation activities.

Callaway was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 in costs.

He must also pay a £114 victim surcharge.

Magistrates also imposed a restraining order to protect the victim.

The restraining order will remain in place for two years.
