She pleaded guilty to failing to ensure the pupil regularly attended classes.
Her child failed to attend school towards the end of last year, Cardiff Magistrates’ Court was told.
The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons to protect the identity of her child, was ordered to pay £159 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
