A woman driving one of the vehicles was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the collision
A person had to be cut from their car after being involved in a serious collision in a Cardiff suburb.
- South Wales Police was called to a two-vehicle collision on Llantrisant Road, Danescourt at around 8.50pm on Friday evening.
- Emergency services, including officers from South Wales Police and personnel from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service were in attendance.
- Fire crews had to release one person from the vehicles using hydraulic cutting equipment, while another casualty removed themselves from the vehicle. A police spokesman confirmed a woman driving one of the vehicles was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash.
- A man driving the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. A police investigation into the collision is ongoing.
- A spokesman from South Wales Police said: “Two vehicles collided on Llantrisant Road, Danescourt, at approximately 8.50pm on Friday, March 20. The woman driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries which are not life threatening. The male driver of the other car involved sustained minor injuries. A police investigation into the collision is ongoing.”
- A statement from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service read: “SWFRS received a call at 8.05pm on Friday, March 20 to a two-vehicle road traffic collision. Crews from Cardiff Central and Ely attended. One casualty self-extricated and one was released from the vehicle by the fire service using hydraulic cutting equipment. STOP message was received at 9.36pm.”
