“It’s not somewhere we’re called to very often, but when we are, it’s a good experience for our volunteer crew!
“On Sunday, we had two shouts, taking us to very different parts of our patch.
“The first saw our crew tasked to an incident near the Severn Bridge, while the second involved a person on a sandbank off Sully Island.

“Thankfully, neither resulted in anyone needing assistance from our volunteer crew.
“But it’s a timely reminder to always check the tide times before heading out, particularly around Sully Island, where the incoming tide can quickly cut people off.
“From the sandbanks around Sully Island to the Severn Bridge, it’s a reminder of just how large an area we cover”.
If you see someone in trouble on or near the water, Barry Dock RNLI are urging the public to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
The spokesperson said: “If you see someone in trouble on or near the water, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard”.
