Anyone with information which could help the investigation is being asked to contact South Wales Police.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Were you at Broad Street in Barry at around 1.30am on Sunday July 26?
“Officers investigating a report of an affray in the street are today appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“If you saw anything, or have any information that could help the investigation, please contact South Wales Police quoting reference 2600240678”.

The incident took place outside the Far East Chinese Takeaway and clips shared online appear to show a large crowd gathered outside the takeaway, with people spilling out into the street as the disturbance unfolded.
Some members of the crowd can be seen standing on parked cars while watching the incident, as several shirtless men appear to become involved in the fight.
The footage appears to show people being knocked to the ground during the altercation, with some individuals appearing to kick others as the disturbance continued.
In an earlier statement shared by South Wales Police, a spokesperson said: “South Wales Police said officers were called to Broad Street at around 1.30am following reports of an ongoing disturbance.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers were called to Broad Street, Barry, following a report of an ongoing disturbance at around 1.30am yesterday (Sunday July 26).
“Upon attendance, the group involved had left the area.
“Officers remained in the area as reassurance and enquiries into the incident are ongoing”.
The footage has sparked a strong reaction online, with residents commenting on the scenes and the damage reportedly caused during the incident.
