Edward Howard, 39, of Mayflower Way in Rhoose, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court charged with drugs offences alongside Raegan Adams.

21-year-old Adams, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at a previous hearing in Cardiff Magistrates’ Court to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine, as well as possession of criminal property.

It was alleged that Adams had 19.9 grams of crack cocaine and 23.83 grams of diamorphine on him in Barry on March 24, as well as ÂŁ960 in dirty cash.

Howard was also accused of those same charges of possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

He denied both charges.

Prosecutor Nuhu Gobir alleged both defendants were dealing drugs together, with Howard accused of driving them both to sell drugs to customers.

Cora Sorensen, on behalf of Howard, said her client did not accept being in possession of any drugs or intending to sell drugs of any kind.

Judge Shomon Khan scheduled a trial to take place for Howard from November 11.

Adams, who is currently in custody having been recalled to prison, will be sentenced following the conclusion of his co-defendant’s trial.
