Road closed as Hare and Hounds in Cowbridge pictured on fire

South Wales Police are at the scene of an “incident” on the A4222, Aberthin and have closed the road in both directions between Watery Lane and Cowbridge High Street, Cowbridge.

They ask that locals avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.

The incident is reportedly at the Hare and Hounds pub on Maendy Road, where fire engines have been seen tackling a fire.

This 300-year-old pub is continuously recognised among the best, having recently been named among the UK’s best pubs by the Good Food Guide and among the country’s best rural pubs by The Standard.

The incident is still ongoing.
