Road shut due to ‘serious’ crash as drivers urged to avoid area

Police said the road was expected to be closed ‘for some time’

South Wales Police is at the scene of a serious collision. Here’s what we know so far.

• The collision has taken place on the A4233 in Tonyrefail.
• The road is currently closed in both directions between the roundabout of the A4119 and the A4233 towards Trebanog.
• It is expected to remain closed for some time.
• Police are asking motorists to “please avoid the area” and use alternative routes where possible.
• It adds: “We’re grateful for your patience.”
