Ancona is an award-winning actress, comedian, and impressionist, with a career spanning more than 30 years.
Her TV and Film credits include Last Tango in Halifax, Penelope, Skins, and The Trip, while she also co-wrote and starred in Big Impression.
The 56-year-old joined EastEnders late last year, before making her on-screen debut in January 2026 as Bea Pollard, Linda Carter’s friend from school.
Bea quickly found herself “in the heart of the drama” on EastEnders, revealed as a “twisted” villain who stole thousands from Honey Mitchell before putting her in hospital.
Ancona previously said she was “honoured” to have been given her role on EastEnders.
She said: “I am honoured to have been invited to join the iconic institution that is EastEnders, and to go on this whirlwind of a journey with such an unpredictable, nuanced and complex character as Bea.
“I hope audiences have as much fun watching her as I have had bringing her to life.”
Ronni Ancona set to leave EastEnders in the coming weeks
Ancona’s short stint on EastEnders is set to end in the coming weeks, according to The Sun.
A source said: “Ben was delighted when Ronni agreed to join EastEnders after approaching her for the role of Bea.
“He had big shoes to fill following the departure of former EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw and was desperate to bring in someone with a profile.
“They wanted to see how the character and storyline went down with the viewers, and give Ronni the chance to find her feet.
“And although she has loved her time in Albert Square, she will be leaving in the coming weeks.”
An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed her departure, stating Ms Ancona’s role was always planned as a limited run.
The spokesperson said: “As we previously announced, Ronni Ancona joined EastEnders for a short stint, which was then extended, for a very dramatic storyline which will unfold over the next few weeks.”
