Customers are praising its low running costs as an energy-saving alternative

Dunelm shoppers could take the chill off this winter with a “fast and effective” solution to keep warm without turning the central heating on. These devices cost pennies to run and deliver direct heat throughout the home, according to the homeware retailer.

The Convector Heater is back in stock for customers, priced at £28. Dunelm shoppers can order this for collection at their nearest branch at no extra charge, or opt for home delivery for an additional fee (from £3.95).

Describing it online, the retailer said: ” Stay warm with ease using this 2000W Convector Heater. Designed to deliver fast and effective heating, it features three heat settings and an adjustable thermostat so you can tailor comfort to suit your surroundings.

“The slim freestanding design and integrated carry handle make it easy to position around the home, while overheat protection provides added peace of mind.”

Based on current energy tariffs, Dunelm estimates the device costs up to 53p per hour in electricity to operate, reports the Mirror.

Similar products are available elsewhere, such as the GoodHome 2000W White Convector Heater (B&Q, £25 down from £39) or the Fine Elements 2kW Slim Convector Heater (Wickes, £23). Other options include Home Bargains’ PIFCO Convector Heater With Turbo and Timer (£29.99).

The Dunelm offer has received rave reviews from dozens of satisfied customers over several years. One said: “What a great little heater. Silent and powerful enough to warm any room up within a few minutes.”

Another put: “Very good heater. It does a good job at heating the room, and hasn’t made the electric bills high at all. Highly recommend, totally worth the money!” A third described it as “fabulous”, adding: “It heats up the room in no time and is better than putting the heating on.”

Not all customers were satisfied with their purchase. One claimed: “The heater worked just over a week and now has stopped working. So disappointing because it would heat up the room really quickly.”

Another said: “Projects little to no heat even on the highest setting. Came dented where the leg stand was meant to go.” Several buyers reported receiving damaged units, while others complained their heaters “just stopped working” after only a handful of uses.

That said, not everybody was left disgruntled. Another of the 125 reviewers who awarded it five stars wrote: “The heat that comes from [the heater] is amazing. Within an hour, my living room was so warm and cosy, and that was on a bitterly cold morning.”

A customer said: “Really heats up our living room fast in the morning so we don’t have to put the gas fire on.” Another claimed it “heats [their] room up in an instant”.
