The seven defendants were accused of speeding, driving without a licence, keeping an untaxed vehicle and keeping a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements.
Their cases were heard in the magistrates’ courts in Cardiff, Swansea, Liverpool and Teesside.
Here’s a round-up of the cases.
Mark Gregory, 60, of Hannah Street in Barry, was caught speeding in a 30mph limit.
Gregory was also charged with driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and was fined £220 at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on February 13. He was also ordered to pay £120 in costs and an £88 surcharge, and was hit with three penalty points.
Christopher James, 67, of Wyndham Street in Barry, was fined £220 for keeping a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements.
James was also ordered to pay £100 in costs and an £88 surcharge at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on February 9.
Neil Smith, 58, of Harlech Gardens in Barry, was caught speeding in a 20mph limit.
At Swansea Magistrates’ Court on February 13, Smith was sentenced to pay a £220 fine, £120 in costs, and a surcharge of £88. He also had three points added to his licence.
Andrew Jimson, 45, of Powis View in Barry, was driving without a licence or insurance.
Jimson was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £120 in costs, and an £88 surcharge. He also had eight points added to his licence on February 11 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
Christopher Lang, 62, of Plymouth Road in Barry, was fined £293 for speeding in a 30mph limit.
Lang pleaded guilty to the offence, and was sentenced to pay £120 in costs and a £117 surcharge. He was also handed four points on his licence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on February 13.
Rachel Davies, of St Athan, was fined £220 for keeping an untaxed vehicle.
Liverpool Magistrates’ Court ordered Davies to also pay £2.92 in back duty and £85 in costs on February 9.
Jason Edros, 49, of Ewenny Close in Barry, refused to identify a driver who was alleged to have been speeding in a 50mph limit.
Edros was ordered to pay £1,044 in a fine, costs, and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver when required. He had six points added to his licence on February 10 at Swansea Magistrates’ Court.
