Network Rail is assisting a farmer to retrieve the cows safely

There’s severe disruption for commuters on Tuesday morning as animals have blocked train lines. There are some cows loose on the railway line in the Pyle area. Teams from Network Rail are on their way to assist a farmer to retrieve the cows safely, but it has been warned this “may take some time.”

As a result of this issue, trains running between Cardiff Central and Swansea may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised, National Rail says.

Great Western Railway routes are affected between London Paddington and Swansea / Carmarthen. Always keep on top of the latest Welsh news with our newsletter.

Transport for Wales routes are also impacted between Manchester Piccadilly and Milford Haven, between Shrewsbury and Fishguard Harbour, and also between Cardiff Central and Swansea / Llanelli / Pembroke Dock / Fishguard Harbour.

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey. Passengers are advised to keep their train ticket and make a note of their journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
