Sunsets, Artemis and why God calls us a ‘masterpiece’

by martyn jones

Following a period of darkness and cold nights we are beginning to experience spring with its many fresh flowers, trees now coming into both leaf and blossom

These last few days too there have been glorious sunset!

Looking across the sky I just wanted to meditate on Psalm 19 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”(NIV)  Or as another translation says “God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft is on exhibit across the horizon.(Message)

Recently too there has been great discussion and excitement regarding the latest journey not just to the moon but around the moon.

We have had opportunity to see some of the spectacular photographs of our God’s craft from the Artemis team.

It is an amazing world that God has created.

The psalmist David also said in Psalm 8 v 1 “You have set your glory among the heavens.” But asks the question about us humans of why he cares   or thinks about us in v 4 “what is mankind that you are mindful of them?”

We need to go back to the beginning to understand why. As God created the world there was one last creation to be made, mankind.

Amazingly we are called “masterpiece” in “the passion translation of Genesis 1 v 27. It was only after this that God say the creation was Very good!

Despite our sin and failures God still today cares for us. Are you asking Why does He care for us like David did? Because of Love. Have you considered talking to God to ask Him what his purpose for you in life is? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” (John 14 v 6)

Have you discovered His life and purpose for you. I pray if you have not yet, that one day you will find that purpose out and understand that you are part of the “Masterpiece”!
