Swansea City star Ben Cabango, aged 26, from Penmark, near Barry was caught on Friday, January 9.
The offence took place on the A4067 in Swansea on the Mumbles Road junction with Brynmill Terrace.
Cabango entered a guilty plea through the single justice procedure which was taken into account during sentencing.
At Swansea Magistrates’ Court, he was disqualified from driving for six months.
In addition, he must pay £1,016.
That was made up of a £640 fine, £256 victim surcharge and £120 prosecution costs.
The full amount must be paid by August 24.
Centre-half Cabango has won 16 caps for Wales.
