56The research has been approved by Swansea University’s internal Research Ethics Committee, and is open to anyone who is over 50, living in the UK and who is not (or has not been) a healthcare professional themselves. I am also not able to accept responses from people with conditions such as dementia as this I do not have the additional ethics clearance required for this. My name is Milo Coffey, and I am a PhD student at Swansea University. My research is about how over 50s understand medical words that are used when talking about falls with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. This information is important in making sure that people understand, consent to and are satisfied with the care they are receiving. I am currently collecting data for this research by way of an online survey which can be filled out by people over 50 living in the UK.
