Miracle Oladoyinbo died after the bike he was riding collided with a SsangYong Tivoli on Penarth Road, Grangetown, at 12.27pm on March 25.
His family paid tribute to him in a statement released by South Wales Police.
They said:
“Miracle Oladoyinbo was a beacon of joy and compassion, a 16-year-old whose life was defined by a profound love for God and an unwavering commitment to his faith.
“A gifted musician, he didn’t just play music; he used his talents as a ministry to uplift spirits and bring comfort to everyone around him.
“To know Miracle was to be touched by his warmth and inspired by his grace.
“While his life was tragically cut short, the melody of his kind heart and the strength of his testimony will resonate forever in the hearts of the family and community who loved him so dearly.”
Roads policing officers are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Enquiries remain ongoing.
