Proposal for tree work
A lime tree in a Penarth conservation area is the subject of a new application seeking a 50 per cent crown reduction.
Situated on the kerbside at 98 Plymouth Road, Penarth, the tree has become overgrown, with branches overhanging the drive and the front of the property.
The proposed work aims to address the potential for falling branches and associated risks to people and property.
Timber office and workshop
Full planning permission has been requested due to the siting of a single-storey timber office and workshop in the rear garden of 13 St Peter’s Road, Penarth.
Although construction began on March 1, 2026, the building has not yet been completed.
The structure, which sits close to the property’s southern boundary fence and gable end, has been built using a ground screw support system designed to minimise environmental impact.
No plants or vegetation were removed during construction.
Future landscaping plans include wildlife planting, bird boxes, feeders and a bird bath.
Balcony addition
At 64 Chandlers Way, Penarth, an application has been lodged to add a new balcony on the front (south) elevation of the property.
The proposal also includes replacing the existing bay window with new doors.
Home extension
A ground floor side extension has been proposed for 142 Westbourne Road, Penarth.
The home features a large rear garden designed to support local wildlife.
As part of the work, a boundary hedge will be removed to allow for a new connecting path between the front and rear gardens.
Rose bushes along the house will be relocated within the garden, and new trees are planned along the side boundary to maintain the existing bird corridor.
