NEUROSIS

An Undying Love For A Burning World (Neurot)

What a joyous way to usher in the spring season: California’s most dissonant sons, Neurosis, have returned. Putting behind them a tumultuous period of uncertainty that saw founding member Scott Kelly exit the band, they have roped in Aaron Turner (Sumac, Isis) on second guitar and vocal duties and have surprise-dropped a timely reminder of what this band is all about.

An Undying Love For A Burning World is everything you could want from a Neurosis record in 2026. Whether it’s the cacophonous riffs of Mirror Deep and First Red Rays, or the otherworldly soundscapes from Seething And Scattered, Neurosis have produced an album that will undoubtedly take the band forward, whilst paying homage to the band’s lengthy history of sonic violence. Many thought that the band were finished, but Neurosis have not missed a beat – and with Turner’s involvement, there’s a renewed energy about them.
