The Met Office has warned that a shift in weather patterns will bring showers, thunderstorms, and cooler conditions across Wales, including parts of Gwent, from Thursday evening.
A yellow weather warning is in place for thunderstorms in south-west England from 6pm to midnight tonight, and these are forecast to stretch over the Severn Estuary.
In Cwmbran, Caerphilly, and Abergavenny, thundery showers are forecast from 11pm, with temperatures holding around 25°C for about two hours.

Ebbw Vale is expected to see thundery showers at midnight, with a 70 per cent chance of rain and temperatures around 23°C.
In Newport, residents can expect showers and similar temperatures at that time, although thunderstorms are not currently expected.
Along the coast, Barry is forecast to see thundery showers for around two hours from 10pm, with temperatures of 26°C. Penarth is likely to experience an hour of thundery showers from 11pm, with temperatures near 25°C.
The two-day red weather warning for extreme heat remains in place throughout today until midnight.
The Met Office forecast for Wales said: “Staying very warm and humid overnight.
“Dry for most but elevated thunderstorms moving into the south. Could turn gusty for some with the odd rumble of thunder. Minimum temperature 17 °C.”
They added: “High pressure will gradually move away to the east of the country later this week as low pressure approaches from the south.
“This will bring somewhat cooler conditions from the west, but also increase the chance of showers and thunderstorms ”
