A busy road in the Vale of Glamorgan was shut for a number of hours on Monday evening following the crash
Two people were taken to hospital and a man was arrested after a serious collision on a busy road in the Vale of Glamorgan.
- Two-car collision reported: South Wales Police was called to a serious collision between two cars in Five Mile Lane, Barry, shortly after 5pm on Monday evening, March 9. The road was closed in both directions, causing long delays for drivers at rush hour.
- Drivers asked to avoid area: Due to the road closure which remained in place for a number of hours, South Wales Police asked drivers to avoid the area due to the expected delays.
- Two people injured: A police spokesman said two people were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing following the crash. They have since been discharged.
- Man arrested: A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. He has been released under investigation.
- Police statement: “Police were called just after 5pm on Monday (March 9) to a collision between two cars in Five Mile Lane, Barry. A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving; he has been released under investigation. No life changing or life threatening injuries were reported.”
